September 2005. Missing home, vacation took us back home to California. It was a grand tour starting in SF to home town Mountain View all the way to San Diego.

And of course I documented it all with my Birthday gift form Hank a new camera! Oh boy, just when you thought you have had enough photos, Ha Ha Ha there's more.
Oh yeah bigger and better too.

Our New Pond (wu who!) posted 07/10/05

It's a small start, but here is our first pond. I think Hank likes it! We have three :o( 2 Koi and 1 Comet. Like Scooby and Xena the fish are $2.99 mutts.

Gustavo and Celina, our friends from Chicago spent Thanksgiving with us. We really had a great day just catching up with our newly weds.

Right, Hank and Paul in front of the Capitol Building waiting with Gustavo and Celina for tickets to tour the Capitol Building. You may notice that it was really cold that morning around 9:00 AM. We hit the tour day just right as few people were in the city the Friday after Thanksgiving. Small groups gave us a great view of the Capitol from the inside.

We gained a great deal of history about the building. Early on, the Capitol rotunda was designed (not built at that time) to house George Washington to lie in state after his death. A large round opening was originally in the center of the rotunda so one could look down where our first President would be entombed for eternity. This was never to happen, and the opening in the rotunda floor would be sealed and replaced to complete the floor.
